At JAK Audio Visual, we recently had the privilege of undertaking an exciting project at St. Andrews Christian College. We were tasked with installing a video wall solution for their multi-purpose hall, complete with an outfitted audio solution over the school holidays.
Step 1: Evaluation
As we embarked on this project, our first task was to conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the space where the new AV system would be installed. We visited St. Andrews Christian College, carefully examining the layout, acoustics, and specific requirements of the area. By gaining a deep understanding of the existing infrastructure and the school's objectives, we were able to lay a solid foundation for the subsequent design process.
Step 2: Design
With the insights gathered during evaluation, the team at JAK Audio Visual went straight to the drawing board. Leveraging our expertise and industry knowledge, we meticulously crafted an AV design that aimed to deliver optimal sound quality and seamless visual integration.
We worked closely with Hopton Tech to design bespoke mounts and gear for the project.
Step 3: Procurement of AV Equipment
Once the AV system design was finalised, we took on the responsibility of sourcing and supplying the required audio-visual equipment for the project. Thanks to our extensive network of industry partners, we were able to procure the necessary components with ease. Keeping in line with our recommendation, we ensured that St. Andrews Christian College received top-quality, reliable equipment aligning with their requirements and long-term goals.
To start off, at the core of this project, we decided to use Aurora Signage's 2.6 mm Pixel Pitch LCD Video Wall which spanned 5m x 3m. The decision to choose these panels was supported by its impact protection, which ensures that the video wall will be protected against any rogue balls or hazards in this multi-purpose space. We had the opportunity to work closely with Westan - an Australian-based distributor to supply these panels along with a Colorlight video wall processer.
Next up, we had a smooth experience in working with our partners over at Group Technologies from whom we acquired the necessary components for the Nexo Audio Solution including subwoofers, mounting brackets and amplifiers.
In addition to the video wall and speakers, we also supplied and installed Crestron controls, microphones from Sennheiser, and a Digital Mixing Console [TF3] from Yamaha.
Step 4: Installation Process
Having supplied all the equipment required, our skilled installation team arrived at St. Andrews Christian College to bring the video wall to life. This phase involved meticulous planning and execution to seamlessly integrate the new AV system within the existing infrastructure. Our team worked diligently to install the audiovisual components, making all the necessary connections and optimizing the positioning for optimal sound dispersion and visual performance.
The Final Result
Over the school holidays, in a week's time JAK Audio Visual was able to successfully deliver the entire project with the required customisations and an emphasis on quality that exceeds expectations.
